Central Minnesota – 12/05/2025 – Central Minnesota Jobs and Training Services, Inc. (CMJTS) is proud to announce that it has been awarded several significant grants from the Minnesota Department of Economic and Employment Development, the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry, Initiative Foundation, and Isanti County. These grants aim to enhance workforce development initiatives and support employers, job seekers, and the Local Workforce Development Board in the region.
The awarded funding will support targeted programs that create meaningful career opportunities with family-sustaining wages. Highlights of the grants include:
Isanti County Opioid Grant – $90,000 will support training for individuals interested in peer recovery positions and will fund a youth prevention program.
Registered Apprenticeship Hub Development – $136,538: This initiative will strengthen the business services team in promoting Registered Apprenticeships (RAs) to employers and assist in building a solid knowledge base about these programs.
Growing Careers in Agriculture – $254,000: This funding is aimed at helping job seekers pursue careers in agriculture, creating pathways within the sector.
MN Youthbuild – $150,000: This funding will continue supporting youth in learning trade skills, preparing them for fruitful careers in the trades.
Women’s Economic Security Act (WESA) – $140,000: This grant aims to empower women to enter non-traditional careers by providing tailored training and support.
CMJTS Registered Apprenticeship Development – $29,834: This will support the creation of an internal Career Navigator Registered Apprenticeship program, further enhancing the resources available for career development.
Initiative Foundation – $5,000 to support additional training for the Local Workforce Development Board to better understand their roles and responsibilities.
