Central Minnesota Jobs and Training Services, Inc. (CMJTS) is a nonprofit employment and training agency and a partner in the Minnesota CareerForce System. Our mission is to match jobseekers, youth, businesses, and those seeking training with the resources available to them. CMJTS is a partner of Local Workforce Development Area 5, which serves 11 counties in central Minnesota, including Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Kandiyohi, McLeod, Meeker, Mille Lacs, Pine, Renville, Sherburne, and Wright counties.
CMJTS is also a member of the Minnesota Workforce Council Association (MWCA). MWCA represents the cooperative efforts of 16 area workforce councils across the state. Each area council provides leadership and direction for local workforce development programs, which are tailored to meet the specific needs of their communities. MWCA’s mission is to provide Minnesota with a workforce and economic development system that is business-driven, fiscally responsible and most importantly that produces results.
Since our beginning in 1984 as Private Industry Council 5, CMJTS has been passionate about providing quality training and job placement services to our customers in central Minnesota. Throughout our 11-county region, jobseekers—adults, youth, entry-level, career-changers, low-income, and dislocated workers—count on us for professional career guidance based on their individual circumstances, economic self-sufficiency needs, and local labor market demands. Businesses count on us for qualified workers to fill their jobs.
We are proud of the testimonials we have received over the years from our jobseeker and business customers:
“The funding helped a lot, but more so, the support and guidance was the major thing.”
“I appreciated the support I received from the agency: the structure, and the emotional and financial support. The end of my story is really just the beginning for me.”
“My training helped me get the job I wanted, a job I wasn’t originally qualified for.”
“Our employees are successful, in no small part, because of the training coordinated by CMJTS.”
We continue to focus on building positive relationships, partnerships, and collaborations that lead to innovative workforce development solutions.
