Central Minnesota Jobs and Training Services, Inc. (CMJTS) is excited to announce the receipt of a significant grant totaling $80,000 from the Department of Employment and Economic Development’s youth support services program. This grant will provide $40,000 annually for the next two years, enabling CMJTS, in partnership with Legacy2Inspire, to further support at-risk youth within our community.
This funding will enable the launch of the Building Tomorrow project, dedicated to empowering young individuals by offering meaningful opportunities in hands-on trades. Through this initiative, participants will not only gain practical experience but also receive valuable mentorship, earn competitive wages, and accumulate school credit for their active involvement.
“The Building Tomorrow project is designed to equip at-risk youth with essential skills needed for future careers,” said Diana Ristamaki, Youth Program Manager. “We believe in fostering personal growth and resilience, and our program aims to help these young individuals build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.”
The project will equip young people with the tools and support they need to succeed in today’s job market. Participants will engage in various trade-related activities that promote teamwork, problem-solving, and real-world application of their skills.
CMJTS and Legacy2Inspire are committed to creating a positive impact in the lives of these youth, helping them unlock their potential and pursue their dreams with confidence.
