Central Minnesota Jobs and Training Services, Inc. Selected by Pine County to Provide Employment Services
CMJTS Will Help the County’s Public Assistance Recipients Find Gainful Employment
Pine County, MN — November 1, 2019 — Central Minnesota Jobs and Training Services, Inc. (CMJTS), the nonprofit employment and training partner of the local CareerForce System, will begin providing service to assist low-income residents as they work to reduce their dependence on public programs.
“CMJTS has a long history of delivering Employment Services to public assistance programs in Kanabec, McLeod, Meeker, Renville, Sherburne, and Wright counties and we are excited to expand these services to Pine County,” said Program Manager Dina Wuornos. “We want to help public assistance recipients connect with good jobs so they can support their families.”
Pine County adults receiving public assistance will be referred to CMJTS by their county financial worker, as appropriate. They will then work one-on-one with an employment specialist who will give them the guidance, support, and assistance they need to become self-sufficient. Participants will undergo an assessment of skills and interests to discover jobs for which they are well-suited. They will also learn how to use labor market information tools to make informed career pathway decisions. “Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to benefit from one or more of CMJTS’ other employment and training programs delivered to youth and adults throughout the 11-county region,” stated Chief Executive Officer Barbara Chaffee.
Those interested in learning more about CMJTS’ offerings may contact the agency at (800) 284-7425. Employers interested in providing learning or career opportunities for prospective worker programs are also encouraged to connect with CMJTS.
