The Buffalo Hospital Heart Safe Communities Program, through funds from the Wright County Area United Way, has graciously donated a new automated external defibrillator (AED) unit and cabinet to CMJTS. The AED is equipped with two sets of adult electrodes, a battery, carrying case, ready kit pediatric key, and surface mount AED cabinet. In addition to the unit, Buffalo Hospital registered nurse, Phyllis Lundeen, provided free on-site training to the Monticello WorkForce Center Safety Committee members, including hands-only CPR and AED.
Sudden cardiac arrest is one of the leading causes of death in the United States. Training and access to AEDs improves the chances of saving a life! Buffalo Hospital Heart Safe Communities Program’s generosity and the AED donation helps make the Monticello WorkForce Center a safer place for our staff and customers.
