Central Minnesota Jobs and Training Services, Inc. (CMJTS) announces the launch of “Opioids: The Minnesota Initiative.” CMJTS received $400,000.00 funded by a Disaster Recovery National Dislocated Worker Grant secured by Minnesota’s Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) in partnership with workforce development agencies CMJTS, Anoka County, Career Solutions, the City of Duluth, Workforce Development, Inc., and other collaborators.

This new initiative, referred to as OMNI, provides hope and opportunities to people directly or indirectly impacted by the growing opioid crisis and others who wish to work in occupations needed to mitigate the opioid crisis, including jobs in healthcare, chemical dependency counseling, and substance use disorder treatment. Through financial support and individualized case management, eligible individuals will have access to education, training, employment placement, and supportive services.

CMJTS will identify and serve individuals through partnerships with government agencies, local businesses, Minnesota’s Adult Drug Treatment Courts, community recovery centers, recovery residences, correctional facilities, and non-profits and community-based organizations providing services to the impacted population.
