Adult Basic Education is offered at our Monticello and Olivia locations.
Training is available in the following areas at our Monticello location:
- GED pre-tests and GED peparation
- Introduction to computers: keyboarding, Windows, word processing,
spreadsheets, and databases
- Preparation for the Acu-Placer and ASAP, enterance exams for Minnesota
community colleges
- Resume preparation assistance
- Basic skills instruction: reading, writing, and math
- Preparation for Certified Nursing Assistant coursework
- Preparation for Special License exam
- Preparation for Ability Benefit Assessment (necessary without
a GED or HS Diploma for post-secondary education)
- Preparation for Minnesota Written Driver's Exam leading to a
driver's permit
- Learning Neeeds Screening (initial inventory for possible LD indicators)
- Referrals for English as a Second Language (ESL)
and Adult Diploma instruction
- Certificates for successful client participation are awarded
- Attendance/class hours are tracked
- Hours may qualify for MFIP job search plan requirements.
- All instruction services are free
